We have a great team here at Clearpoint Recycling, so we want our readers to get to know the faces behind the names.
In this blog series, we ask one of our valued colleagues 10 quick questions – about their role responsibilities, personality and working at Clearpoint – so you can get to know them better. This month, it’s the turn of buyer, Kate Anderson
Name: Kate Anderson
Job title: Buyer
Department: Buying
The people! I only joined at the start of December, but everyone has been supportive and encouraging thus far – and it’s clear we have a very strong team.
Friendly, motivated, experts.
To nurture and develop strong and long-lasting relationships with our supplier base, in order to enable Clearpoint – and our customers – to purchase high-quality materials, at the best price.
At this stage, I think I’d be described as ‘the new girl’. Or maybe, the person who begins every sentence with: “sorry to bother you but…”
I was once forced to go on a team building day which had me groaning with dread.
However, it’s amazing how well you bond with your colleagues when you’re stood on a log trying to get yourselves in alphabetical order or hanging from a tree by a rope they are holding!
I also think it’s really important to step outside of your comfort zone every now and then in order to continue developing as a person.
Oooh, tricky one. Could I plump for the power to have any superpower I wanted? After all, why settle for only one! I could fly invisibly to my favourite holiday place, eat without gaining any weight, not have to pay for anything – as no one can see me – all while telepathically convincing suppliers to give me all their amazing, clean materials. Result!
Easy! A long lie-in, Dishoom bacon naan to set me up for a good long walk in the hills, followed a big roast dinner and glass of red. Heaven!
The legend that was my grandad, as I’m certain he hadn’t finished telling me all his stories. The other guest would be Sir Chris Bonington, an absolute mountaineering legend.
Enough COVID-19 vaccines for the world – so we can all get back to what we’d much rather be doing, where we’d rather be doing it, and spending time with our nearest and dearest.
Mountain guide by day, Ibiza DJ by night. I’m not completely sure how that would work logistically, but with these new superpowers, there’d definitely be a way!
