Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Job Title: Part-Time Accounts Assistant

Location: Harrogate (Hybrid working) 

Employment Type: Part-Time 

Salary: £12.25 per hour

Hours: 4 days per week, 9:30 to 15:00

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join our finance team at our central Harrogate head office.

Job Overview:

The Part-Time Accounts Assistant will support the finance department with various accounting and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for someone who is looking to work around school hours while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic industry. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the team in various accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

– Assist in maintaining accurate financial records, including processing invoices, payments, and receipts.

– Prepare and update ledgers, spreadsheets, and databases to track financial transactions.

– Reconcile bank statements and assist in preparing monthly financial reports.

– Support the Accounts Team Leader with month-end and year-end closing processes.

– Handle accounts payable and receivable tasks, ensuring timely payments and collections.

– Assist in the preparation of financial documents for audits and reviews.

– Respond to queries from internal and external stakeholders regarding financial transactions.

– Maintain organized and secure filing systems for financial documents.

– Perform other related administrative and accounting duties as required.

Qualifications:

– Previous experience in accounting or within a finance role.

– Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central and Xero) is a plus.

– Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

– Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

– Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

– Strong numerical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.

Commercial Manager - Buying

We are looking for a highly motivated, personable and driven individual to join our expanding commercial team. Having industry experience is not required but having an optimistic outlook and positive attitude to learn certainly is. Acting with integrity, thinking about the long-term and being innovative, agile and adaptable are all desirable attributes of the ideal candidate.

At CPR we pride ourselves on our company culture, we have a strong team mentality and good sense of humour! We appreciate that there is a lot to learn from grades of material to site processes, so we offer full support, training and shadowing to allow you to confidently and comfortably embrace the role.
As a buyer there is an obligation to travel to the accounts you manage, this is to view material for potential purchase, understand process, complete any compliance requirements and of course build rapport. Company car allowance is part of the package and includes mileage relief.
Targets are set in line with the company plan/focus and although this is a target driven role, they are set based on fair and reasonable numbers, staggered accordingly throughout the first year of employment. We are committed to maximising longevity so unlike other commercial roles, our intent is to create the opportunity for long-standing employment.
We offer a competitive uncapped commission scheme and this role allows for hybrid working. Working from home, the office and being out on the road means that no two weeks are the same. Each buyer has the novelty of managing their own diary and travel which gives the freedom to work autonomously.

– Developing new accounts sent directly from our internal Lead Qualifier and nurturing existing accounts – maximising long-term business opportunities from all.
– Travelling to various accounts throughout the UK to view material, understand quality, process, build rapport and carry out compliance requirements.
– Staying focused on the company plan and pushing opportunities in line with this.
– Liaising with the sales/commercial team about opportunities and about where to focus.
– Following internal process about what important information is required when offering material to the sales team.
– Managing own diary accordingly to maximise ability to hit targets.
– Having direct contact with the sales, logistics, accounts and compliance teams.
– Using our personalised Dynamics system to update information surrounding your specific accounts
– Onboarding new accounts – compliance, customs, credit information
– Visiting networking shows in the UK

Account Manager - Sales

As a Business Development/sales Account Manager there is a considerable obligation to travel to customer accounts in Europe (and beyond). This is an integral part of the position to understand process, complete any compliance requirements and of course build rapport. All company related travel costs are covered.
Targets are set in line with the company plan/focus and although this is a target driven role, they are set based on fair and reasonable numbers, staggered accordingly throughout the first year of employment. We are committed to maximising longevity so unlike other sales roles, our intent is to create the opportunity for long-standing employment.
We offer a competitive uncapped commission scheme and this role allows for hybrid working. Working from home, the office and being out on the road (or on a plane!) means that no two weeks are the same. Each account manager has the novelty of managing their own diary and travel which gives the freedom to work autonomously.
