Material Background: Domestic Kerbside materials – material comes in loose inc Glass. Material runs through a cabin where large OCC and items that may damage the MRF are removed. A Trommel removes glass and fines, material then goes through a ballistic separator to split 2D/3D materials. 3D materials mainly plastics and metals then go through an overband magnet and eddy current before hitting the optical sorters. They target HDPE, PET, and then all remaining plastics. The HDPE and PET then go to a second sorter splitting Natural and Jazz before a QC cabin then baling. All material is given a visual inspection before loading.
