Material Background: These plastics originate from co-mingled material that arrives on-site from local kerbside collections – no glass. The material is loaded onto a conveyor and onto a picking station where a QC process removes any large or obvious contamination. Firstly 2d objects such as paper and small pieces of card are targeted, bunkered and baled. From there a magnet targets steel cans and then an eddy current targets aluminium cans both of these metals are bunkered and baled, and a final sensor targets all plastics that are bunkered and baled.  The material is then stored outside.
