Material Background: This is co-mingled material from local kerbside collections. It arrives on site and is fed onto a conveyor and enters a QC cabin where oversized items, OCC and contaminants are removed by hand these are separated and bunkered. The material then runs through a trommel where the glass is broken up and along with fines (<50mm ) are removed. These materials are then bunkered and baled. From here the material passes through a magnet to remove any metal and then an eddy current removes any aluminium. Next, the material moves onto a ballistic separator where 2D objects (mainly paper and card) move forward and the 3D objects (mainly plastics) fall onto a separate conveyor. Optics then positively target the following polymers HDPE Nat and Jazz, PET Natural and PP. These separated materials are then bunkered and baled. Any remaining material then re-enters the MRF for re-processing.
